Job Title: Principal Planning Officer - Compliance and Enforcement

Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Planning Officer to join our Compliance and Enforcement Team.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the delivery of an effective compliance and enforcement service, ensuring that development is carried out in accordance with approved plans. This will involve coordinating and managing investigations into reported breaches of planning control, as well as managing planning applications and appeal work arising from enforcement action.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the delivery of an effective compliance and enforcement service
  • Coordinate and manage investigations into reported breaches of planning control
  • Manage planning applications and appeal work arising from enforcement action
  • Work closely with the Compliance and Enforcement Team to ensure effective delivery of the service
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including developers, landowners, and other external partners
Requirements

The successful candidate will have expertise and experience in town planning and planning enforcement, as well as excellent communication and negotiation skills. They will also be well-organized and able to motivate others, with a strong ability to apply their experience and expertise to drive results.
