The Role
This position is part of the UK Manufacturing Finance team, covering a maternity leave. You will oversee the preparation of monthly Management Accounts and engage in daily tasks to ensure the finance team delivers exceptional service to the organization. Your focus will be on maintaining strong financial controls and providing timely Management Accounts reporting to the Group Finance team.

This role is ideal for individuals who are AAT qualified or in the early stages of pursuing CIMA, ACCA, or ACA qualifications. It presents an excellent opportunity for those seeking greater responsibility in a dynamic environment and who are committed to high standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review monthly management accounts accurately and on time, including supporting documentation such as the Capex schedule.
  • Contribute to the monthly management accounts commentary, ensuring a clear understanding of variances and overall business performance.
  • Participate in the quarterly forecast review process.
  • Manage monthly costs, including accruals and prepayments, particularly for staff costs.
  • Approve weekly payment runs and proforma payments, ensuring proper segregation of duties.
  • Collaborate with budget holders to ensure accurate financial representation of their operational plans.
  • Oversee intercompany recharges among UK entities.
  • Ensure all balance sheet accounts are reconciled and accurate on a monthly basis.
  • Assist in preparing audit and tax computations, including year-end stock counts and reviewing financial transactions for accurate cost allocation.
  • Ensure compliance with National Statistics and other government reporting deadlines.
  • Support the daily management of the finance team while maintaining strong controls within the management accounts process.
  • Provide management information support to business and manufacturing room managers as needed.


Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a finance role, demonstrating a hands-on and enthusiastic approach.
  • Strong numerical skills with a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of the P&L.
  • Proficient in Excel, IT, and online banking tools, including Google Suite, with confidence in using functions like VLookUps and Pivot Tables.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong communication skills, with a flexible approach to collaboration with both financial and non-financial staff.
  • Experience with systems such as Therefore, QAD, ABBYY, Xero, Zahara, and Rydoo is advantageous.
  • Great communication skills.
  • A genuine interest in Lush and our ethical practices, with a willingness to understand and innovate within our finance infrastructure.
While AAT qualification or progress towards CIMA, ACCA, or ACA is desirable, it is not essential as study support may be available.
