The Role
This position is integral to the UK Manufacturing Finance team, covering maternity leave within our existing structure. You will oversee the preparation of monthly Management Accounts while actively engaging in daily operations of the accounts team to ensure that finance delivers exceptional service across the organization. Your focus will be on maintaining strong financial controls and providing timely Management Accounts reporting to the Group Finance team.

This role is ideal for individuals who are AAT qualified or in the early stages of CIMA, ACCA, or ACA qualifications. It presents an excellent opportunity for those seeking increased responsibility within a dynamic business environment and who are passionate about upholding high standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Timely and accurate preparation of monthly management accounts and submission to Group Finance, accompanied by supporting documentation including the Capex schedule.
  • Contributing to the monthly management accounts commentary, demonstrating a clear understanding of variances and overall business performance.
  • Participating in the quarterly forecast review process.
  • Reviewing monthly expenses and managing accruals and prepayments, including staff cost accruals.
  • Authorizing weekly payment runs and proforma payments while ensuring proper segregation of duties.
  • Collaborating closely with budget holders to ensure accurate financial representation of their operational plans.
  • Overseeing intercompany recharges among UK entities.
  • Ensuring all balance sheet accounts are accurately reconciled on a monthly basis.
  • Assisting in the preparation of audit and tax deliverables, including year-end stock counts and reviewing financial transactions for specific general ledger accounts to ensure correct cost allocation.
  • Ensuring compliance with all National Statistics and other government reporting deadlines.
  • Supporting the daily management of the finance team and maintaining robust controls within the management accounts process.
  • Providing management information support to the business and manufacturing room managers as needed.


Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a finance role, demonstrating a hands-on and enthusiastic approach.
  • Strong numerical skills with a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of the P&L.
  • Proficient in Excel, IT, and online banking, including Google Suite, with confidence in using functions such as VLookUps and Pivot Tables.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a flexible approach to working collaboratively with both financial and non-financial personnel.
  • Experience with systems such as Therefore, QAD, ABBYY, Xero, Zahara, and Rydoo is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication abilities.
  • A candidate who aligns with Lush's values and ethics, eager to understand the Lush finance infrastructure and processes while being open to innovation and improvements.
While being AAT qualified or pursuing a finance qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) is desirable, it is not essential as study support may be available.
