Overview:

Kroll Bond Rating Agency Europe Limited (KBRA UK) is on the lookout for an Investment Fund Analyst to become a vital part of our expanding Funds Ratings division in the London office. The Funds Ratings team is responsible for assigning and overseeing credit ratings on a variety of debt instruments linked to funds, closed-end funds, and other investment vehicles. Our diverse ratings portfolio includes funds that utilize various asset growth and income generation strategies, encompassing fixed income securities, private equity, private credit, real estate, and middle market lending. The ideal candidate will possess substantial experience and a keen interest in fund investment and credit analysis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct credit research on an array of funds, closed-end funds, and other investment vehicles.
  • Support the creation of rating and analytical tools, including cash flow and asset coverage models for evaluating fund debt structures.
  • Assist in the quantitative and qualitative preparation of internal credit memos and publications.
  • Engage in diligence meetings with fund management teams to evaluate their investment expertise, risk management capabilities, and overall strategy execution.
  • Develop and maintain intricate spreadsheets and databases.
  • Collaborate with KBRA experts across various sectors such as project finance, corporate finance, financial institutions, and structured finance.
  • Contribute to research efforts for internal and publication purposes.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Mathematics, or a related field that demonstrates strong analytical skills.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience as a credit analyst, particularly in fund lending, investing, or structured finance is highly advantageous.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a dynamic team environment.
  • Strong time management skills and resourcefulness in a rapidly growing organization.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills are essential.
  • Proficiency in Advanced Excel; experience with cash flow modeling is preferred.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with SQL and VBA for database querying is a significant plus.
  • Progress towards CFA designation is advantageous.
