About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled VAT Specialist to join our team at DiverseJobsMatter. As a VAT Specialist, you will play a critical role in maintaining and managing our company's VAT policies, procedures, and documentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain robust VAT compliance processes and internal controls to ensure accurate and timely VAT reporting.
  • Create comprehensive VAT manuals for each of our products and services to provide a clear policy framework and manual for our organisation.
  • Enhance our VAT compliance reputation and increase operational efficiency by identifying and implementing process improvements.
  • Review and ensure our financial systems, including Microsoft Dynamics D365, meet VAT reporting requirements.
  • Escalate and resolve any tax compliance deficiencies or incidents, and conduct risk assessments to identify areas for improvement.
  • Seek advice on new situations to ensure compliance with current legislation and provide guidance to colleagues on VAT-related matters.
Requirements
  • CTA qualification from the Chartered Institute of Taxation or extensive VAT experience, ideally in practice.
  • Proven experience in UK VAT legislation, particularly in charities/membership bodies.
  • Strong understanding of partial exemption methods and experience in implementing new VAT processes in finance systems.
  • Excellent numeracy skills and advanced Excel proficiency.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to identify opportunities for improving efficiencies and internal controls.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with experience working with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics D365 is desirable.
