VAT Compliance Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled VAT Compliance Specialist to join our team at DiverseJobsMatter. As a VAT Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the company's tax compliance and maintaining a robust VAT policy framework.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Maintain VAT Compliance Processes: Create and implement effective VAT compliance processes and internal controls to ensure accurate tax accounting and minimize risk.
- Manage VAT Documentation: Maintain and update VAT policies, procedures, and documentation to ensure compliance with current legislation.
- Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with business divisions and cross-functional teams to ensure correct VAT accounting on all transactions and advise on liability queries.
- Enhance VAT Compliance Reputation: Develop and implement strategies to enhance our VAT compliance reputation and increase operational efficiency.
- Review and Ensure Compliance: Review and ensure that our finance systems, including D365 F&O, meet VAT reporting requirements and escalate any tax compliance deficiencies or incidents.
- CTA Qualification or Extensive VAT Experience: Hold a CTA qualification from the Chartered Institute of Taxation or have extensive VAT experience, ideally in practice.
- UK VAT Legislation Expertise: Have a strong understanding of UK VAT legislation, particularly in charities/membership bodies.
- Partial Exemption Methods: Have experience in implementing new VAT processes in finance systems and a strong understanding of partial exemption methods.
- Excellent Numeracy Skills: Possess excellent numeracy skills and advanced Excel proficiency.
- Strong Communication Skills: Have strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to identify opportunities for improving efficiencies and internal controls.
- Organizational Skills: Possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Microsoft Dynamics D365 Experience: Have experience with Microsoft Dynamics D365 (desirable).
