We are seeking a highly skilled VAT professional to join our team as a VAT Compliance Specialist. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely compliance with all VAT regulations and requirements.

In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing and implementing VAT processes and procedures across the organization, with a focus on creating a comprehensive VAT rule book that will serve as a policy framework for all VAT activities.

This position reports directly to the Financial Controller and offers a high level of autonomy to lead change within the function.

The Role:

  • Collaborate with business divisions and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate VAT accounting for all transactions.
  • Advise on liability queries, VAT treatment of transactions, and supplier contract reviews.
  • Liaise with business portfolios to understand their processes and map VAT requirements.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement risk management strategies related to VAT, including the development and maintenance of processes and internal controls to support VAT compliance.
  • Review VAT returns and annual adjustments, including partial exemption and business/non-business apportionment.
  • Create a VAT manual for each product and service of the organization.
  • Ensure quarterly VAT returns align with new processes introduced.
  • Review D365 F&O to ensure it meets VAT reporting requirements.
  • Enhance the organization's VAT compliance reputation and increase efficiency.
  • Provide training and guidance to the business on all VAT matters, ensuring awareness and understanding of obligations in this area.

Profile:

We are looking for a VAT Compliance Specialist with experience in leading VAT matters within a business. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in VAT regulations and a proven track record of implementing effective VAT processes and procedures.

The successful candidate will be a standalone VAT specialist within the organization, responsible for ensuring compliance with all VAT regulations and requirements.
