The Role:

PIB Group is seeking a knowledgeable VAT Compliance Specialist to enhance our Finance & Tax team. The VAT Compliance Specialist will be instrumental in ensuring adherence to UK VAT regulations, including the preparation of the UK Quarterly VAT Return for various business segments. This position is designed for individuals who are eager to contribute to a dynamic team while advancing their careers in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the UK Quarterly VAT Return for the VAT Groups.
  • Extract and verify data from multiple IT systems, analyzing transactions in accordance with UK VAT legislation.
  • Conduct transactional reviews following internal procedures and HMRC VAT compliance guidelines.
  • Support the UK Tax team with International VAT compliance activities and contribute to ongoing process enhancements.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • ACA (or equivalent) or CTA (part or fully) qualified tax professional.
  • CCAB or ATT qualified.
  • Experience in a complex International Group with various VAT recoverable rates.
  • Proven track record in producing UK and International VAT returns.
  • Strong understanding of current UK and International VAT legislation.
  • Familiarity with VAT-specific software, such as Alpha VAT, is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills across all organizational levels.
  • Proficient in data manipulation from diverse sources.
  • Advanced Excel skills are advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Highly organized with exceptional time management abilities.
  • Positive attitude, problem-solving skills, and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
