Role: Technical Support Specialist

Location: Pensnett

About the Role:

This is a key position within the industrial gearbox repair team, with primary responsibility for providing technical support to the specialist repair facility for gearboxes and rotating equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide internal product, application, and commercial support to ERIKS' service centre network and customers.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of the Drives and Power Transmission core product range, including its features and benefits, and the application of these product technologies in real-world situations.
  • Assist in driving profitable sales forward by identifying opportunities for private label and A-brand product sales and associated products within the Drives and Power Transmission range.
  • Support the Centre of Expertise Gearbox specialist team in the assessment, analysis, order, and supply of completed drive assemblies, new and repair.
  • Carry out support within the team, assisting in the dismantling, inspection, rectification, and condition reporting of equipment in a workshop environment.
  • Provide front-line fault analysis and rectification of issues both electrically and mechanically.
  • Identify and rectify issues associated with the equipment.
  • Provide emergency repair services to customers as required.
  • Participate in call-out rota as required.
  • Work on-site as well as in the workshop.
  • Ensure high levels of customer service at all times.
  • Work within the current health and safety guidelines and site requirements.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of Health and Safety in the workplace.

  • Identifying technical products.
  • Application support and advice.
  • Product selection and quotation.
  • Liaising with suppliers.
  • After-sales product support and training.
  • Promotion of private label & A-brand products.
  • Identifying cross-selling opportunities.
  • Pricing and margin advice.
  • 24-hour response service (rota).
  • Gearbox/repair knowledge advantageous.
