Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Diabetes Specialist Nurse/Dietitian to join our team at Barts Health NHS Trust. The successful candidate will have a strong background in diabetes care, with experience in managing patients with Type 1 diabetes, including those using insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitoring systems.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality care to patients with Type 1 diabetes, including those using insulin pumps and CGM systems.
  • Develop and implement a seamless specialist service, ensuring that patients receive the highest standard of clinical care.
  • Act as a point of contact and clinical expert for patients, relatives, and clinician colleagues.
  • Ensure that patients receive evidence-based care in line with current NICE/JBDS guidance.
  • Facilitate our Type 1 & Pump patient support group.
  • Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to develop and implement a comprehensive diabetes service.
Requirements
  • Experience as a DSN/Dietitian with a strong background in diabetes care.
  • Experience in managing patients with Type 1 diabetes, including those using insulin pumps and CGM systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize care.
  • Knowledge of diabetes management principles and current NICE/JBDS guidance.
