Role Overview

The Radiology Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the multi-disciplinary team by engaging in various clinical and administrative tasks. This position requires the ability to focus and manage several responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of examination rooms, ensuring readiness for diverse work lists.
  • Utilize initiative to maintain workflow and minimize patient waiting times, while communicating effectively with senior staff regarding any issues that may arise.
  • Adhere to established best practices and organizational policies, particularly in relation to manual handling techniques.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of all areas and equipment, in line with infection control protocols.
  • Conduct daily inspections of emergency equipment, such as crash trolleys and suction devices.
  • Support patient aftercare, including the safe removal of IV cannulas and handling of body fluids according to policy.
  • Collect urine samples and perform pregnancy tests as authorized by nursing staff.
  • Carry out baseline observations as directed by qualified professionals and accurately document care episodes.
  • Restock clinical rooms, ensuring proper rotation of stock and monitoring of expiration dates.
