Legal Counsel for Corporate Affairs (Energy and Infrastructure)

Our client, a prominent global law firm, is seeking a Legal Counsel for Corporate Affairs (Energy and Infrastructure) to join their team. This position will involve a variety of project work within the Energy and Infrastructure domain.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Project Management: This role encompasses a diverse range of project work within the Energy and Infrastructure sector. You will oversee tasks to ensure optimal resource utilization; support senior legal professionals as needed, taking the lead on specific matters when appropriate; delegate responsibilities and provide constructive feedback to junior team members; communicate progress on assignments to supervisors and colleagues, while consulting on complex client issues and proposing effective solutions; and manage the billing process as necessary.
  2. Client Relationship Management: Anticipate and understand client needs and expectations; provide timely updates and responses regarding project status. Foster strong relationships with individuals and teams across the global network; uphold the firm's core values; contribute to various initiatives (such as corporate social responsibility and diversity efforts); mentor junior staff; enhance visibility by engaging with external organizations and participating in marketing and industry events; and assist in internal training and the development of legal precedents.
  3. Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to risk management protocols, firm policies, and all relevant professional obligations and legislation; contribute to billing, engagement, and client acceptance processes.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
  • A minimum of 4 years of post-qualification experience in a Projects / Infrastructure role.
  • Strong understanding of law firm profitability and key financial efficiency drivers; ability to assist in managing costs and budgets.
  • Willingness to work in a hybrid model.
  • Experience with a leading legal practice, either currently or within the recent past.
