Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fleet Workshop Supervisor to join our team at FedEx. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient running of our vehicle maintenance units (VMUs) and ensuring that all vehicles meet the required safety and regulatory standards.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate the daily operations of the VMUs, ensuring that all maintenance and repair activities are carried out in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of vehicles to ensure that they meet the required safety and regulatory standards.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the VMUs, including the implementation of new processes and procedures.
  • Manage and train a team of technicians and mechanics to ensure that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to carry out their duties effectively.
  • Ensure that all safety and health protocols are followed and that the VMUs are maintained in a clean and safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including logistics and transportation, to ensure that vehicles are delivered to customers on time and in good condition.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure that the VMUs are operating efficiently and effectively.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in the transportation or logistics industry.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and train a team of technicians and mechanics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and customers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve problems quickly and efficiently.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge of safety and health protocols and procedures.
