Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fleet Workshop Supervisor to join our team at FedEx. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient running of our vehicle maintenance units (VMUs) and ensuring that all vehicles meet the required standards for road-worthiness.

Main Responsibilities
  • Ensure the efficient and effective operation of the VMU and achieve targeted Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and objectives.
  • Diagnose and repair vehicles to minimum Department of Transportation (DOT) standards in line with our preventative maintenance program.
  • Complete relevant documentation for all work undertaken, including reporting to the manager.
  • Adhere to all company preventative maintenance and service schedules.
  • Prepare and submit all necessary reports and paperwork.
  • Conduct road tests on vehicles (where qualified to do so).
  • Ensure the safe and effective use of all tools, plant, and ancillary equipment.
  • Ensure Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is worn in accordance with our Health and Safety policy.
  • Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, and Security regulations.
  • Seek continuous improvement through ongoing quality initiatives aligned with our business objectives.
  • Take all reasonable action to ensure the safety and security of vehicles and equipment.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Manage, train, and develop employees within the team and in accordance with their job role and business requirements.
  • Develop staff for succession through coaching, delegation, and feedback.
  • Responsible for promoting a professional image of the company and complying with our policies and code of conduct at all times.
  • Comply with all relevant Health, Safety, and Security regulations.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in vehicle maintenance and a proven track record of managing a team. You will also need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
