Job Overview

Red - Specialist Recruitment is seeking a Marine Crew Management Coordinator to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in overseeing long-term crew planning and scheduling, ensuring that all personnel possess the necessary qualifications, experience, and competencies for their designated roles. The primary objective is to maintain compliance with both client and company standards across all vessels.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Possession of a relevant degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of ISM, STCW, MLC, and TMSA regulations.
  • Proven experience in a scheduling capacity, preferably within the marine sector or a related field.
  • Familiarity with complex crewing systems and the ability to manage scheduling demands effectively.
  • Experience in conducting scenario analyses and assessing scheduling risks.
  • Capability to generate clear and concise reports to aid senior management in decision-making processes.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, essential for fostering strong working relationships.
  • A commitment to continuous improvement, focusing on enhancing scheduling quality and compliance with KPIs and SLAs.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Direct oversight of crew scheduling for assigned vessels.
  • Collaborate effectively with the crew management team, operations department, and recruitment to plan seafarer rotations and maintain budget-compliant manning levels across the fleet.
  • Ensure vessels are staffed with personnel who meet the required experience and compliance standards.
  • Monitor training matrices and procedures for all seafarers, identifying and addressing training needs as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date staff rotations within the scheduling system, generating regular reports to track compliance metrics against internal and external deliverables.
  • Address seafarer inquiries, coordinating responses in accordance with company protocols and managing communications with relatives as needed.
  • Facilitate the scheduling of candidates through the crew mobilization process, assisting with the acquisition of necessary shipboard documentation and future assignments.
  • Lead communication efforts with external partners, including manning agencies, to ensure smooth onboarding and offboarding of crew members.
  • Proactively resolve scheduling conflicts for both planned and unplanned events, conducting follow-up analyses to implement corrective measures.
  • Assist the Marine Personnel Lead and Head of Marine Personnel Operations with onboarding and offboarding procedures.
  • Support the Marine Personnel Lead in addressing disciplinary matters related to managed crew as required.
  • Act as a deputy for the Marine Personnel Lead when necessary.
  • Coordinate global travel arrangements for shipboard teams in collaboration with travel agencies and local port authorities, ensuring cost-effectiveness in line with budgetary constraints.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the Standards for Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping Convention (STCW), including certification requirements by rank, assisting the Marine Personnel Lead with updates and dissemination to the team.
  • Participate in meetings and reporting sessions as required to support client deliverables.
