Are you prepared to revolutionize the social media landscape for prominent brands? We are seeking a Director of Social Media Strategy to enhance our presence and engagement through a meticulously crafted organic social media plan.

This pivotal role requires a highly experienced individual who is not just familiar with social media but is truly passionate about it. Candidates should possess extensive experience in social media at a senior level, rather than a broad marketing background.

Given the significance of football in our strategy, a solid understanding of the sport is essential. You will be at the helm of a vibrant team of four social community managers, ensuring our content consistently resonates with our audience and keeps them engaged.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the budget and create a detailed strategic plan for each brand's social media initiatives to achieve the defined objectives.
  • Establish and uphold a distinctive tone of voice across all relevant social media platforms that embodies each brand's identity, collaborating closely with the Heads of Brand Marketing.
  • Work in tandem with PR leaders to ensure that social media dialogues and initiatives are synchronized with PR activities, implementing a daily communication process to support this alignment.
  • Participate in planning sessions for major events and campaigns, contributing to the development of initiatives that may center around social media or require its support.
  • Generate innovative ideas for social media content that align with each brand's marketing strategy and character, utilizing internal resources or engaging third-party creative agencies as needed.
  • Manage partnerships with external content creators and amplifiers, in conjunction with the PR and Brand marketing teams, in accordance with each brand's strategy.
  • Compile regular performance reports based on agreed social media metrics, evaluating the effectiveness of each brand's social media efforts against established goals.
  • Serve as the social media authority for the brands, staying informed about the latest trends and developments in the rapidly changing social media landscape to ensure our strategies remain relevant.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated professional experience in a social media capacity, working with a recognized brand either on the agency side or client side.
  • A strong interest and understanding of football.
  • Experience in managing or leading a team.
  • Exceptional skills in content creation and copywriting, with a keen interest in various sports.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities, comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Proficient in tools such as Photoshop, video editing software, MS Office, Google Analytics, and social media analytics platforms.
