Procurement Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Officer to join our team at REED Specialist Recruitment. As a Procurement Officer, you will be responsible for assisting with the tendering, evaluation, placement, and monitoring of designated corporate contracts. You will also provide support to key strategic projects and work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to provide advice on processes, policies, and procedures.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:- Assist the Procurement Office to deliver a transparent and fair procurement service that promotes value for money, adopts best practice, and ensures the business operates within the legal framework applying to public procurement.
- Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to provide advice on processes, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with the Procurement Policy, Financial Regulations, NI Public Procurement Policy, and other relevant guidance.
- Assist with and advise on compliance reviews of existing contracts.
- Assist with maximising the use of collaborative contracts within the sector and more widely within public procurement as appropriate.
- Maintain procurement systems and records to ensure efficient and effective operations and robust internal controls are in place.
- Assist with monitoring and ensuring achievement of value for money in all procurement including collaborating and/or advising colleagues to assist them achieve same.
- Assist budget holders with contract management skills through ongoing training, development, consultation, and communication.
- Assist departments with the preparation and development of robust business cases to support procurements.
- Assist with the preparation of a range of procurement and contract management reports for consideration for a variety of internal and external audiences.
- Working towards Level 4 MCIPS qualification with at least 1 year's related experience of procurement, tendering, and contract management processes OR Able to demonstrate 2 years' relevant experience of procurement, tendering, and contract management processes.
- A broad working knowledge of procurement, tendering, and contract management processes.
- Experience of writing and presenting reports to a variety of audiences and stakeholders.
- IT proficient with the use and demonstrable experience of using Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal - with the ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to manage and prioritise a busy workload with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.
- Ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team.
