Position Overview

The primary responsibility of this role is to lead Valneva's commercial operations in the United Kingdom and Ireland. This includes executing established commercial strategies, managing local teams, and achieving sales and profitability targets. The role also entails ensuring operational and compliance performance in line with corporate objectives and relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee financial performance, including P&L accountability in accordance with the approved budget.
  • Formulate and implement country-specific product commercialization strategies and plans.
  • Develop and execute local business and marketing plans, ensuring alignment with global brand strategies.
  • Lead the local commercial operations, providing day-to-day guidance to local teams.
  • Collaborate with global functions, including Supply Chain Operations, Quality Assurance, and Finance.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders, customers, and stakeholders in accordance with company policies.
  • Manage commercial agreements with distribution and logistics partners to ensure business performance aligns with contractual obligations.
  • Ensure effective oversight of sales, marketing, distribution, and logistics activities, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
  • Maintain scientific integrity and compliance of promotional materials, particularly regarding clinical data.
  • Oversee pharmacovigilance compliance for Valneva products, ensuring effective systems and processes are in place.
  • Act as the local regulatory agent, ensuring appropriateness of regulatory processes and structures.
  • Promptly escalate any significant breaches of quality or regulatory compliance to the appropriate corporate representatives.
  • Recruit, manage, and develop staff to ensure a well-trained and motivated workforce.
  • Provide insights and support to global marketing and medical teams to foster collaboration on global campaigns.
  • Identify opportunities for product in-licensing to enhance the local product portfolio.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in executive management, sales, marketing, and financial oversight within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Demonstrated success in networking and negotiating at the executive level in the vaccine sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of the vaccines industry.
  • A degree in Business or Life Sciences is required; an MBA is preferred.
