JOB OVERVIEW
This position is integral to the Design and Development team, focusing on the digital technical progression of various apparel, particularly knitwear. Your role will encompass the creation of technical packs, CADs, and necessary modifications from the initial designer sketches to the first sample delivery.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Collaborate with designers to create technical packs that accurately reflect the designer's intent and adhere to the brand's quality benchmarks. Produce precise technical illustrations and occasional artwork utilizing Illustrator. Provide strong insights on suitable finishes and construction methods while assisting in sourcing appropriate hardware. Gather pertinent information from team members and compile it into technical packs using Illustrator. Maintain clear communication with the RTW and knitwear divisions to ensure garment specifications are accurate. Demonstrate a solid understanding of garment construction and pattern cutting to develop clear and precise tech packs for both in-house and offshore sampling teams. Possess knowledge on enhancing garment quality, with an understanding of luxury items through their construction and materials. Utilize the in-house computer system to communicate with offshore factories regarding technical specifications. Update technical packs, BOMs, and range overviews to ensure all designs remain current and precise. Measure and prepare garments, assisting in fitting sessions. Perform general administrative tasks such as range planning and sample tracking. REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE A minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience in a similar or related position. Background in knitwear or a willingness to learn. Proficient in Illustrator and Excel. Strong understanding of garment construction and pattern cutting techniques. Good knowledge of fabrics and yarns. Ability to work effectively within a strict timeline. Confidence in measurements and proportions.
