Job Summary:

Hampshire County Council is seeking a skilled Social Worker to join our team in supporting Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC) and refugee young people and children. As a Social Worker, you will play a vital role in assessing, monitoring, and reviewing the social care needs of individuals, relatives, and carers within our care group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and identify the social care needs of UASC and refugee young people and children, and develop appropriate care plans to meet their needs.
  • Work in partnership with users, carers, relatives, and other agencies to identify current and future service requirements and contribute to service development.
  • Decide on the most appropriate level and type of service provision to meet identified needs and risks, in consultation with the manager and other stakeholders.
  • Arrange and conduct meetings to discuss case management activities and ensure the best possible outcomes for service users.

Requirements:

  • Professional knowledge and experience in social care, with a focus on supporting vulnerable children and young people.
  • Ability to work in partnership with users, carers, relatives, and other agencies to identify and meet service requirements.
  • Strong decision-making skills, with the ability to assess and prioritize risks and needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
