Job Overview

Position Title: Area Operations Leader

Scope: Overseeing a diverse portfolio across multiple regions with a focus on operational excellence.

Working Hours: Standard business hours, Monday to Friday.

Role Summary

As the Area Operations Leader, you will play a pivotal role in realizing our ambition of becoming the preferred property management provider in the UK by:

  • Offering direction, support, and mentorship to team members to elevate service standards across all areas.
  • Implementing a strategic approach with comprehensive oversight of a regional portfolio, ensuring profitability, adherence to regulations, and delivering exceptional service.
  • Executing necessary actions to guarantee that our properties are maintained to the highest standards and comply with internal policies as well as legal requirements.

This position reports to the Senior Operations Manager and oversees a team of direct and indirect reports.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate cross-departmental meetings to establish and evaluate portfolio objectives and strategies, driving process improvements.
  • Assess and address ongoing training requirements to foster the development of team members, utilizing both internal and external resources.
  • Champion service innovation and cultivate a culture centered on service excellence.
  • Recruit and nurture new talent while actively promoting employee retention strategies.
  • Drive business development initiatives aimed at growth and profitability, including sales presentations and proposals.
  • Support development managers in executing action plans and monitoring risk, implementing corrective measures as necessary.
  • Oversee and evaluate performance metrics to ensure compliance with strategic objectives and health and safety regulations.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure adherence to company standards and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Assist development managers and cross-functional teams in resolving complaints and managing escalated issues effectively.
  • Proactively engage with contractors and consultants to ensure efficient support for business operations.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Extensive experience in leasehold property management.
  • Proven track record in managing remote teams and delivering superior customer service.
  • Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships and resolving issues creatively.
  • Thorough understanding of health and safety regulations and residential landlord-tenant laws.
  • Adept at managing time effectively and prioritizing tasks under pressure.
  • Experience in budget preparation and management across multiple schedules.
  • Skilled in mobilizing new developments and applying risk management strategies.
