An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our esteemed client as their Area Fashion Operations Leader.

As a prominent player in the fashion industry, we are seeking a dedicated individual to become part of the management team, directly reporting to the Chief Executive Officer.

In this role, you will enhance the profitability of your retail locations by maximizing sales potential while adhering to budgetary constraints.

You will oversee the daily operations of all retail outlets within your designated area, ensuring exceptional customer service through effective staff training and leading by example.

This position encompasses the management of 38 retail locations across the South East, with the northernmost site in Hertfordshire, extending to Brighton in the South and Dover in the East, including central London.
Key Responsibilities:
- Achieve and surpass sales and profit targets across the stores and the overall area.
- Drive sales performance, ensuring operational excellence and the delivery of outstanding customer experiences.
- Plan, monitor, and assess the financial performance of stores, identifying opportunities, addressing challenges, and maximizing returns from existing resources to ensure regional profitability.
- Play a pivotal role in establishing business objectives and budgets aligned with retail strategy.

- Ensure measures are implemented to reduce operating costs and safeguard profitability, taking decisive action to mitigate shrinkage and controllable expenses.

- Accountable for the recruitment, training, development, and engagement of management teams and staff within the region.
- Maintain communication with head office, fostering relationships with all key stakeholders.
- Utilize data to make informed decisions with a focus on profitability.
- Conduct structured visits to stores, ensuring a focus on efficiency, productivity, and operational compliance.

- Take charge of the development and succession planning of Store Managers by coaching and empowering them to effectively manage their stores and meet KPIs.

- Ensure full compliance with audits related to health & safety, loss prevention, and HR documentation and practices.

- Manage and develop your management team within the region, addressing any conduct or capability issues in accordance with company procedures and in a timely manner.

- Assist with various projects in collaboration with the central Retail Operations Team.

- Lead the establishment of business objectives and budgets, as well as collaborate with Store Managers to devise plans and strategies to achieve these goals.

- Ensure that high standards of customer service and satisfaction are consistently achieved and maintained across all stores.
- Plan, monitor, and regulate the financial performance of stores, identifying opportunities, addressing challenges, and maximizing returns from existing resources.

- Develop store strategies/layouts in alignment with divisional sales strategies and ensure stores implement agreed seasonal and promotional plans.

- Identify new opportunities to profitably expand each store's business potential and communicate any additional business opportunities to Head Office.

- Ensure that stores are adequately staffed to maximize sales and maintain store standards within established cost parameters.
- Take responsibility for implementing measures to reduce operating costs and protect profitability, taking effective action to combat shrinkage and controllable expenses.

- Ensure compliance with company procedures for cash and stock handling within stores and adherence to security protocols.

- Collaborate with HR to recruit Store Management in line with the needs of individual stores and the company.
- Ensure effective induction and ongoing training of Store Management in accordance with company guidelines.
- Identify and nurture individuals with potential for succession, maintaining an accurate succession plan for the area in conjunction with HR.
- Monitor the ongoing performance and behavior of Store Managers, taking disciplinary action as necessary within company procedures and personal limits of authority.
- Ensure Store Managers recruit, induct, and train their store teams in accordance with company procedures and programs.
- Ensure Store Managers continuously monitor their team's performance and conduct Annual Performance Reviews.

- Ensure that stores maintain a safe working and shopping environment in compliance with health and safety regulations and company procedures, conducting risk assessments for new stores or as directed by the Health and Safety Department.

Flexibility is essential, as the working hours of the job-holder will be determined by the business's requirements.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Proven experience as an area/regional fashion manager, with a strong background in the fashion industry, preferably in fast fashion.
  • Experience managing teams of up to 50 staff members across multiple locations.
  • Ideally, experience managing 30+ sites on a regional basis.
  • Proficient in budgeting, managing, and driving the sales process.
  • Confident in leading large teams and ensuring optimal team performance.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Experience in managing budgets, increasing sales, and ensuring profitability.
  • Proven track record of meeting KPIs and exceeding sales targets.
  • Willingness to work weekends and extended shifts as required.
  • Comfortable with a 39-hour work week, with shift flexibility.
  • Proficient in administration, reporting, and health & safety compliance.
  • Previous experience in recruiting, onboarding, training, and developing staff.
