Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at Lancashire Independent Living Service. As a Support Worker - Personal Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting a young male in his own home, enabling him to remain independent and live a fulfilling life.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for supporting others and be able to provide assistance with daily living tasks, such as personal care, household chores, and accessing community activities. You will also be responsible for promoting the individual's independence and autonomy, while ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with personal care tasks, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Support with household chores, including cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation.
  • Accompany the individual to community activities, such as cinema visits, shopping, and cafe visits.
  • Assist with accessing healthcare services and appointments.

We are looking for a motivated and flexible individual who is able to work independently and as part of a team. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with the individual and their family.

Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a caring role is essential.
  • Experience or knowledge of autism would be an advantage.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  • A driver with a full clean license is essential due to the remote location.
