Additionally, this position includes paid enhancements for working unsocial hours, including nights, weekends, and bank holidays.

This position offers a unique opportunity to assist learners with their individual speech, language, and communication requirements, ensuring they flourish within the educational environment and can engage with the college's specialized curriculum and broader opportunities. The focus will be on facilitating effective communication and creating inclusive environments.

You will be an integral part of the esteemed and dedicated Speech and Language Therapy Service for individuals with Intellectual Disabilities and Mental Health needs in Nottinghamshire. This service operates across various sectors, including Youth Justice, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), Intellectual Disabilities, Autism services, and Forensic services. You will receive robust support and supervision from a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, with numerous opportunities for peer collaboration. You will benefit from strong connections with our wider team and Speech and Language Therapy colleagues throughout the East Midlands, along with excellent support, supervision, and continuing professional development (CPD) opportunities.

Main Responsibilities

Students attend Landmarks Specialist College to enhance their independence and employability skills. Your role will be to support both the individual and the college in this journey by addressing the speech, language, and communication needs of each learner and ensuring an inclusive communication atmosphere. The therapeutic multidisciplinary team will work collaboratively (alongside learners, teaching and support staff, families/carers, and external agencies) to achieve positive outcomes in a practical manner.

You will contribute to specialized individual Speech and Language Therapy assessments and interventions, training, and consultancy. Your responsibilities will include managing a defined caseload of learners, with specific targets tailored to the individual and their environment.

Job Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be based at Landmarks Specialist College and will travel to various locations across South Yorkshire and the East Midlands. The work will occur at different college sites and will include integrated therapy as part of the daily operations of the educational setting.

You will be responsible for the assessment, formulation, and management of a specialized clinical caseload, ensuring that practices align with professional standards. This will involve understanding neurodevelopmental communication differences, identifying communication risks, and recommending reasonable adjustments during team formulation and risk management discussions. You will directly contribute to providing tailored therapeutic interventions, working closely with service users, the multidisciplinary team, and partners.
