Export Operations Specialist - Role Summary
Streamline Search is partnering with a well-established client in the Freight and Logistics sector, boasting nearly five decades of industry experience. This organization is situated in a prime location within the shipping industry and specializes in the management of both import and export activities across various transportation modes, including Air, Sea, Road, and Rail. They are currently seeking an Export Operations Specialist who possesses comprehensive knowledge of all transport modalities to join their dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate all export operations.
- Facilitate customs clearance procedures, which encompass the preparation of export documentation, calculation of duties and taxes, and collaboration with customs authorities to address any challenges or delays.
- Collaborate closely with the UK Export team.
- Act as the main point of contact for clients, carriers, and other stakeholders regarding shipment progress, scheduling, and any arising issues.
- Deliver timely updates and proactively resolve concerns to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Negotiate pricing with carriers and service providers to optimize transportation expenses while ensuring quality service delivery.
- Monitor financial outlays and prepare cost analysis reports for management as required.
Qualifications:
- A proven track record of at least two years in a similar role within a small to medium-sized freight forwarding company.
- Familiarity with CDS, Sequoia, and Cargowise systems.
- Experience with multi-freight forwarding software.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills coupled with a personable demeanor.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- A collaborative team player with a proactive approach.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Standard working hours from Monday to Friday.
- Salary range of £30,000-£35,000.
- 28 days of annual leave, inclusive of public holidays.
- Onsite parking facilities.
- Company pension scheme.
