About The Role

We are seeking a skilled Logistics Specialist to support our domestic and international projects. As a key member of our in-house transportation operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring products and consumables are transported locally and globally in compliance with all relevant import and export laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and liaise with courier and logistics companies to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products.
  • Schedule deliveries on behalf of project managers for UK and international projects, ensuring that all necessary documentation is prepared and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and process import and export declarations, as well as calculate duty and VAT costs for each consignment.
  • Track shipments and update relevant teams on progress, resolving any discrepancies or issues that may arise.
  • Dealing with general enquiries from importers/exporters concerning customs procedures, tariff classifications, duty rates, and other documentation requirements.
  • Raise orders and authorise orders up to limits of published authority.
  • Log and monitor courier purchase logs for logistics.
  • Manage any insurance claims in line with delivery shortfall and damage to products.
  • Resolve delivery and collection discrepancies with both suppliers and internal teams.
  • Administration of in-house documentation and process.
  • Liaison & coordination with internal & external stakeholders including project managers, stock returns team and finance department, etc.
  • Keeping up to date with changes in regulations, laws and customs procedures.

  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • The ability to deliver under pressure with minimum supervision.
  • To communicate effectively with people at all levels.
  • Proficient with Microsoft office, especially Excel.
  • A positive and enthusiastic approach to delivering the role.
  • Experience within a similar role with exposure to international duties, customs, taxes, etc.
  • Able to work well within a team.
  • Self-Management / Communication / Planning/Organising.
  • Familiar with Microsoft CRM and/or SAP.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks & progress priorities.
  • Excellent communications skills via email & telephone.
