  • We are seeking a proactive and self-motivated professional to join our innovative team as a Senior Environmental Health Officer within the Private Sector Housing division.
  • Your primary objective will be to elevate housing standards through effective collaboration with landlords, while also being prepared to implement enforcement actions when required.
  • Our team manages a considerable portfolio of Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs) and is currently rolling out an Additional Licensing initiative.
  • You will supervise a team of three officers responsible for addressing Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) complaints, tenancy disputes, HMOs, and vacant properties, in addition to managing your own caseload.
  • As the principal officer for enforcement operations, it is essential that you have extensive knowledge and a thorough understanding of current housing legislation pertinent to the private rental market.
  • Applicants must possess a degree in Environmental Health or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Environmental Health Officers Registration Board (EHORB), along with professional registration with EHORB.
  • A minimum of five years of post-qualification experience in Private Sector Housing is essential, coupled with outstanding communication and leadership skills.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo a Basic DBS check.

Work Arrangement: This role offers a hybrid working model, combining remote work with regular site visits.
