Due to substantial growth within the company my client is recruiting for a Buyer to join their small team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is keen to put their own stamp on the role and offers a great career progression.
Role and responsibilities:  
Develop skills in accurately determining material quantities needed for construction projects.
Interpret blueprints and project specifications for precise material take-offs.
Ensure timely procurement of materials to maintain project schedules.
Oversee the process of requisitioning materials and plant equipment for construction sites.
Regularly visit sites to ensure adequate materials and resources are available.
Assist in controlling standard house type costings.
Procure all materials not supplied by subcontractors, such as bricks, blocks, joists, and trusses.
Produce monthly Material on Site checks and compile cost data for monthly CVRs.
Attend commercial team and project team meetings.
Assist in value engineering meetings to reduce site costs.Qualifications and Skills:
IT literacy beyond emails and MS Office.
Full driving licence and vehicle.
HNC/D in Building Construction (not essential).
Experience with Mac OS, Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel), Eque 2 Cost Management (Housebuilder), and Procore.
Good understanding of materials and construction.Applications
