Buyer - New Build Housing

We are seeking a skilled Buyer to join our team at Code Red Associates. As a Buyer, you will play a crucial role in the procurement of materials and resources for our new build housing projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop skills in accurately determining material quantities needed for construction projects.
  • Interpret blueprints and project specifications for precise material take-offs.
  • Ensure timely procurement of materials to maintain project schedules.
  • Oversee the process of requisitioning materials and plant equipment for construction sites.
  • Regularly visit sites to ensure adequate materials and resources are available.
  • Assist in controlling standard house type costings.
  • Procure all materials not supplied by subcontractors, such as bricks, blocks, joists, and trusses.
  • Produce monthly Material on Site checks and compile cost data for monthly CVRs.
  • Attend commercial team and project team meetings.
  • Assist in value engineering meetings to reduce site costs
Requirements:
  • IT literacy beyond emails and MS Office.
  • Full driving licence and vehicle.
  • HNC/D in Building Construction (not essential).
  • Experience with Mac OS, Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel), Eque 2 Cost Management (Housebuilder), and Procore.
  • Good understanding of materials and construction.
