Lead Quality Engineer

Reporting Structure: This position functionally reports to the Shift Leader regarding all operational aspects of building services, encompassing both critical and non-critical engineering tasks.
Collaboration: While this role does not have direct reports, effective collaboration with the Account Manager, Contract Manager, CEWA Manager, MAC Manager, site engineering team, contract support team, and external specialists is essential.
Work Schedule: The working hours are structured as follows: 6am to 3pm in the first week and 2pm to 11pm in the second week, totaling 9 hours per shift with an unpaid lunch break.
On-Call Responsibilities: The Engineer will participate in an on-call rotation, being available for 7 days every 4 weeks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the shift team in delivering high-quality service.
- Engage in daily operations involving the Building Management System.
- Perform general maintenance and housekeeping duties.
- Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety policies across all areas.
- Assist colleagues in maintaining motivation and commitment to the client, contract, and organization.
- Work within a strategically significant and prestigious account.
- Possess a minimum of an academic qualification in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering, with a focus on multi-skilled engineering, particularly in HVAC and building services (water, gas, heating, ventilation, and waste).
- Exhibit a flexible attitude with a proactive approach, willing to work beyond their primary skill set to enhance customer service.
- Be open to undertaking necessary training as directed by the contract manager.
- Maintain administrative skills for managing both computer-based and hardcopy systems for statutory inspections and testing.
- Demonstrate the ability to react and work independently within the on-call system.
- Operate all building systems competently and efficiently, adhering to CWES guidelines and bulletins.
- Ensure that service provider worksheets are signed off, quality of work is inspected, and any recommendations are escalated appropriately.
- Plan and prioritize tasks from Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules and help desk requests.
- Respond to breakdowns and adapt to changing priorities.
- Oversee progress control and quality assurance.
- Show proven experience as a shift engineer in building services within a prestigious environment.
- Hold City and Guild qualifications or relevant certifications in all aspects of building services mechanical and/or electrical engineering.
- Exhibit strong teamwork skills and excel in motivating small teams under pressure, maintaining a positive and flexible approach.
