Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineering Lead to join our team at Amentum CMSI. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers in the delivery of projects to time, cost, and quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of discipline engineers in the definition, implementation, and delivery of specified functional work that achieves safety, functional, legislative, and business requirements.
  • Set the assurance strategy ensuring correct stakeholder buy-in at the correct time, including all required design reviews, assistance reviews, and any other assurance activities.
  • Carry out effective and proportionate risk management and assurance activities, including calling functional engineering or design capability reviews, especially in relation to novel techniques or solutions that carry significant financial, technical, design, or program risk.
  • Collaborate in the selection and development of optimized, balanced, and practical design solutions balancing aspects of safety and environmental performance, operational effectiveness, and constructability.
  • Ensure that SQEP competent resources are used to prepare, check, and approve design work packages.

Requirements
  • Qualified Chartered Engineer
  • At least 8 years of experience in relevant project design work
  • Experience of Front End Engineering Design, Options generation, and down selection
  • Experience in leading a team
