Job Title: Distribution Operations Lead

Simarco International is a leading provider of international logistics and freight services, offering tailored solutions for clients across the UK, Europe, and globally. We are seeking a skilled Distribution Operations Lead to join our team and oversee all aspects of freight operations for our branch.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a small team and oversee day-to-day duties, ensuring efficient and effective operations.
  • Manage all aspects of freight operations, including cargo booking, routing, tracking, documentation, and Customs clearance.
  • Arrange insurance for high-value and client-sensitive shipments.
  • Develop and implement cost-effective groupage trailer planning strategies.
  • Utilize computer systems and Microsoft packages, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, to manage data and operations.
  • Maintain attention to detail when handling data and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
Requirements:
  • Experience in freight forwarding and logistics, particularly European road freight.
  • Ability to load, plan, and route export trailers for cost-effective groupage trailer planning.
  • Computer literacy and ability to learn new systems.
  • Confident use of Microsoft packages and good attention to detail.
  • 25 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays.
