Skanska, a leading project development and construction group, is seeking a skilled Section Engineer to join their team on a major highway improvement project in Cambridgeshire. As a Section Engineer, you will play a key role in the planning and coordination of site works, ensuring that projects are delivered in accordance with design and contract scopes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise site teams to ensure effective performance of duties.
  • Communicate effectively with engineers, supervisors, and client representatives.
  • Generate temporary works design briefs and produce 3-month lookahead plans.
  • Record progress and communicate with stakeholders.
  • Assist in reviewing applications for payment from subcontractors.
  • Coordinate client and third-party quality inspections.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Set and maintain clear expectations for environmental management.

Requirements

  • Degree-level qualification in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of engineering principles and construction methodologies.
  • Understanding of construction contracts and industry qualifications.
  • Digital competence and formal training in Health & Safety and Environmental management.
  • Relevant CSCS Card and full UK driving license.
