About the Role

Skanska is seeking a skilled Section Engineer to join our team on a major highway construction project in Cambridgeshire. As a Section Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the planning and coordination of site works, ensuring that the project is delivered on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise a team of Site Engineers to ensure effective site operations.
  • Communicate with other engineers, supervisors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Generate temporary works design briefs and produce lookahead plans for site works.
  • Record progress and compare it to planned production, communicating with relevant stakeholders.
  • Assist the Sub Agent/Agent and commercial team in reviewing applications for payment from subcontractors.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies and procedures, and set clear expectations for environmental management with the team and suppliers.

Requirements

  • Degree-level qualification in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of engineering principles and common construction methodologies.
  • Working towards or in possession of a Professional Industry Qualification (IEng, CEng etc.).
  • Digital competence and formal training in Health & Safety and Environmental management.
  • Relevant CSCS Card and full UK driving licence.
