Clinical Health Psychologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Health Psychologist to join our team at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Clinical Health Psychologist, you will play a key role in developing and delivering high-quality care for patients living with persistent pain conditions.
The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to delivering evidence-based interventions and will be able to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to achieve optimal outcomes. You will be responsible for developing and implementing specialist pathways for pain management, providing clinical supervision to multidisciplinary teams, and contributing to the development of the service.

Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement specialist pathways for pain management, including short-term assessment, formulation, and intervention.
- Provide clinical supervision to multidisciplinary teams and contribute to the development of the service.
- Work collaboratively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Contribute to the development of the service, including research, audit, and service evaluation projects.
- Provide teaching, training, and supervision to multidisciplinary teams.
- Doctorate in Clinical Psychology accredited by the HCPC (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996 as accredited by the BPS).
- HCPC registered as a practitioner psychologist.
- Post-qualification training in one or more additional specialised areas of clinical practice.
- Strong commitment to CPD as evidenced by post-qualification training.
- Qualification in supervision.
- Evidence of peer-reviewed publications, presentations at conferences, or similar contributions.
- Post-doctoral qualifications in neuropsychological assessment and/or specific therapeutic modalities (e.g. EMDR, CAT, ACT, CFT, SFBT).
- History of leadership training and experience.
- Well-developed highly specialised knowledge of the theory and practice of psychological models and therapies/interventions in clinical psychology and health psychology.
- Doctoral level knowledge of psychology theory and practice, assessment, psychological therapies, and their application.
- Experience of two or more distinct psychological therapies.
- Evidence of significant post-qualification continuing professional development as recommended by the HCPC and BPS.
- Formal training in supervision of other psychologists.
- Doctoral level knowledge of research design and methodology, including complex multivariate data analysis as practised within applied psychology.
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills. Knowledge of legislation and its implications for both practice and management of service.
- Knowledge of relevant standards, policies, and guidelines in health and neuropsychology.
- Demonstrated experience as a HCPC registered practitioner psychologist within physical health psychology.
- Able to work with a range of complex clinical presentations in various settings, including inpatient, outpatient, community.
- Experience of teaching, training, and professional and clinical supervision.
- Experienced in the delivery of evidence-based interventions in clinical/health psychology.
- Experience in audit and evaluation of clinical services.
- Experience of NHS management tasks and multi-professional and inter-agency working.
- Knowledge of local NHS structures. Experience of working with service users as co-producers.
- Experience of professional management of qualified and pre-qualified clinical psychologists.
- Experience of teaching, training, and/or supervision.
- Experience of applying health psychology within different contexts and settings.
- Experience of service development.
- Experience of leading a therapy team.
- Experience of conducting research of a high standard.
- Able to work with commissioners and senior management teams.
- Further training in leadership and management.
