Job Title: Clinical/Counselling Clinical Health Psychologist

The Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled Clinical/Counselling Clinical Health Psychologist to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality psychological services to individuals with persistent pain and ME/CFS.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Assess and manage a caseload of service users with persistent pain and ME/CFS, providing a range of evidence-based psychological interventions, supervision, consultation, teaching, and clinical leadership.
  • Develop and deliver group interventions, such as the Pain Management Programme and Compassion Focused Therapy group, to support individuals in managing their conditions.
  • Supervise core and specialist trainee clinical psychologists, contributing to the development of the next generation of clinical psychologists.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care and support to individuals with persistent pain and ME/CFS.
Person Specification:
  • Doctoral level training in clinical psychology or equivalent, with a strong understanding of models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics, and neuropsychology.
  • Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of patients across various care settings, including outpatient, community, primary care, and inpatient settings.
  • Excellent communication and consultation skills, with the ability to communicate complex information to patients, families, carers, and professional colleagues.
