Key Responsibilities

The Senior Pediatric Neuropsychologist will play a crucial role within the multidisciplinary team, offering clinical leadership in the governance of neuropsychological practices within the broader Pediatric Psychological Therapies Department. This position is vital in supporting patients, their families, and clinical teams.

The successful candidate must possess:

  • A doctorate-level qualification in clinical neuropsychology.
  • Registration on the Specialist Register of Clinical Neuropsychologists.
  • Extensive expertise in pediatric neuropsychological assessments and therapeutic methodologies, underpinned by a robust evidence base for treating children with neurological disorders.
  • Experience in leading multidisciplinary teams.

About the Organization

The successful candidate will join the Department of Psychological Professions, which provides comprehensive pediatric inpatient and outpatient services, as well as adult neuropsychology services across various rehabilitation settings for individuals with acquired neurological disorders, along with their families and caregivers. The department is committed to ongoing clinical supervision, professional development, and career advancement, and maintains strong connections with academic institutions.

Candidate Profile

Experience

Essential:

  • Experience working with diverse patient populations across various life stages, demonstrating the ability to maintain professionalism in challenging and emotionally charged situations.
  • Experience in delivering psychological therapy within a family-oriented context.
  • Significant experience as a qualified neuropsychologist in pediatric settings.
  • Extensive experience as a senior clinical psychologist in pediatric services.

Desirable:

  • Experience applying psychological principles in diverse cultural settings.
  • Experience in developing and leading psychological services.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Postgraduate doctoral-level training in clinical psychology, accredited by the relevant professional bodies.
  • Registration on the Specialist Register of Clinical Neuropsychologists and with the appropriate regulatory bodies.
  • Training in conducting comprehensive neuropsychological assessments.
  • Formal training in supervising other psychologists.

Desirable:

  • Postdoctoral training in therapeutic approaches applicable to neurological patients.
  • Qualification in neurodevelopmental assessments for autism.
