About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Credit Specialist to join our Small Business team at American Express. As a Credit Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the success of our customers by providing exceptional customer service and resolving complex financial issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide world-class customer service to our Small Business customers, responding to their inquiries and resolving their financial issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Conduct outbound calls to collect overdue or high balances on Small Business cards, working with customers to find solutions and negotiate payment plans.
  • Review financial information, such as statements and credit reports, to support customer queries and make informed decisions.
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure seamless communication and collaboration, providing updates and feedback as needed.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance your skills and knowledge, staying up-to-date on industry trends and best practices.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and colleagues.
  • Confident and proactive, with a strong ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Highly empathetic and able to handle complex and sensitive customer situations.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship management skills, with the ability to find win-win solutions.
  • Computer literate and proficient in using software applications, with strong written communication skills.
  • Well-presented and professional, with a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
