The Finance Team:

You will become a vital member of a skilled and motivated finance team, committed to delivering top-tier services within the organization. Our shared service center encompasses all financial operations for the majority of our European sites.

Role Overview:

The primary responsibility of this position is to meticulously prepare and oversee financial accounting and local compliance, which includes statutory accounting, auditing, and group submission of actual figures for the designated entities. You will provide robust support to the Finance Manager on various transformation initiatives and projects. This is a hybrid role, allowing for two days of remote work each week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate monthly management accounts, financial reports, and other necessary documentation in accordance with company standards.
  • Prepare and record monthly accruals, prepayments, and related accounting entries.
  • Conduct timely balance sheet reconciliations and submit them into Blackline, ensuring a clean balance sheet with no aged or unresolved items.
  • Ensure intercompany accounts are fully reconciled with no aged balances, investigating any discrepancies thoroughly.
  • Prepare and ensure the timely filing of statutory accounts for the relevant legal entities as required.
  • Manage asset accounting, including depreciation runs, capitalizing assets under construction, and completing open/close projects punctually.
  • Collaborate with the VAT manager and Tax Manager/Consultants to guarantee full tax compliance.
  • Support external auditors during interim and year-end audits, ensuring timely provision of necessary information.
  • Work closely with the internal audit department to address and resolve any issues raised by them by the specified deadlines.
  • Oversee the GRIR account, ensuring no aged balances remain unresolved.
  • Responsible for the preparation, review, and timely submission of weekly cash flow forecasts.
  • Manage the preparation and submission of the annual balance sheet budget while supporting the budgeting process for the profit and loss statement.
  • Review and authorize weekly payment runs.
  • Coordinate with HR and the payroll provider to ensure local payroll is processed accurately and on time.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations effectively.
  • Assist the Senior Manager with finance-related projects and ad-hoc requests.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualifications.
  • Familiarity with SAP/ERP systems.
  • Experience in a large, complex global financial environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach and the ability to work effectively in a team setting.
  • Experience in managing stakeholder relationships, preferably in a manufacturing context.
