Job Summary

We're seeking an Integrated Support Engineer/Technical Author to create, edit, and maintain technical documents, including Component Maintenance Manuals, Service Bulletins, Aircraft Maintenance Manuals, and Illustrated Parts Catalogues. This role requires ensuring that activities under your control are undertaken in accordance with the GP Strategies Technical Publications Health and Safety Manual and supporting the timely delivery of agreed updates/creation of publications and IPS technical data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Populate illustrated Parts Data in EAGLE.
  • Produce technical documentation to the required quality and specifications.
  • Produce Technical documents as required in a timely manner.
  • Ensure quality control of documentation in accordance with applicable technical authoring specifications and standards.
  • Maintain records and files of all versions and revisions in conjunction with document control.
  • Support the technical verification and validation of technical documentation after necessary training.

Requirements

You'll be educated to at least HNC level or equivalent in a relevant aviation-related subject. Alternatively, you'll have completed a recognized engineering apprenticeship followed by a period of employment in all aspects of aircraft maintenance and overhaul, sufficient to gain the necessary practical experience for the job role.

Desirable Skills

  • Detailed knowledge of Supportability and Air Publication specifications, e.g., ASD S1000D (Issue 2.1 and 2.2), Def-Stan 00-60, S2000M, ATA, etc.
  • Good working knowledge of Simplified Technical English (ASD-STE-100).
  • Knowledge of technical authoring and production tools, e.g., Framemaker, EAGLE, Eagle Publishing System (EPS), and CAPS2000.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and use Enovia and Catia.
  • Good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office programs.
  • Excellent inter-personal skills.
  • Ability to work to changing deadlines under pressure.
  • Knowledge of Merlin or Wildcat aircraft preferred but not essential.
