Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Technical Writer to join our dynamic team, where you will be instrumental in the development and refinement of technical documentation for both military and commercial applications. Your collaboration with Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) leads will be essential in generating Aircrew Publications and enhancing our technical documentation processes to ensure adherence to industry standards and quality benchmarks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer expert guidance to ILS programme leads regarding technical documentation needs.
  • Create and maintain Aircrew Publications.
  • Develop technical documents that meet various industry specifications, ensuring high-quality output within established timelines.
  • Review and validate documentation to maintain exceptional standards in technical publication production.
  • Drive continuous improvements in technical publication processes and performance metrics.
  • Assist in the formulation of project-specific Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs).
  • Notify the Technical Publications Lead promptly about potential issues and propose viable solutions.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of databases for:
  • Internal processes
  • Technical Publications Graphics Library
  • Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) Technical Manuals.
  • Conduct assessments for Problem Tracking Reports (PTR) and manage associated tasks.
  • Oversee the status and configuration of technical publications, including updates and corrections.
  • Support the management of updates and corrections for technical publications across various programmes.
  • Facilitate the coordination of deliveries and updates to technical documentation.
  • Act as the ILS interface for training facilities.
  • Provide comprehensive support for Technical Publications.
  • Maintain Logistics Support Analysis Records (LSAR) for relevant workstreams.
  • Assist in the preparation of Special Category Work (SCW) claims.
  • Support Engineering Project Review Meetings (EPRMs) and related discussions.
  • Adhere to all legislative requirements and company policies.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Significant experience in aerospace documentation, with at least 5 years in military or commercial sectors.
  • Proficient in using Framemaker software.
  • Extensive experience in authoring Component Maintenance Manual (CMM) content, particularly Air Publications or Books of Reference (BRs).
  • Knowledge of producing Data Module content for Interactive Electronic Technical Publications (IETP).
  • Familiarity with Def Stan 0060/00600 and Defence Logistics Framework (DLF) standards.
  • Understanding of ILS disciplines and their interrelations.

Contract Details:

This position is contracted for a duration of 6 months, with a standard workweek of 37.5 hours, structured as a 4-day working week.
