Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Technical Writer to join our dynamic team, focusing on the development and refinement of technical documentation for both defense and commercial applications. In this role, you will work closely with Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) leads to create Aircrew Publications and enhance our technical documentation processes, ensuring adherence to industry standards and exceptional quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer expert guidance to ILS program leads regarding technical documentation needs.
  • Create and maintain Aircrew Publications.
  • Develop technical documents that meet various industry specifications while ensuring timely delivery.
  • Review and validate publications to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of technical publication processes and performance metrics.
  • Assist in the formulation of project-specific Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs).
  • Notify the Technical Publications Lead of any potential issues and suggest viable solutions.
  • Support the creation and management of databases for:
    • Internal processes
    • Technical Publications Graphics Library
    • Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) Technical Manuals
  • Conduct assessments for Problem Tracking Reports (PTR) and manage related tasks.
  • Monitor the status and configuration of technical publications, including updates and corrections.
  • Facilitate the management of updates and corrections for technical publications.
  • Provide logistical support at designated training facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with legislative requirements and internal procedures.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Significant experience in technical writing, with at least 5 years in the aerospace sector (military or commercial).
  • Proficient in using Framemaker software.
  • Extensive experience in authoring Component Maintenance Manual (CMM) content, particularly Air Publications or Books of Reference (BRs).
  • Knowledge of producing Data Module content for Interactive Electronic Technical Publications (IETP).
  • Familiarity with Def Stan 0060/00600 and Defence Logistics Framework (DLF) standards.
  • Understanding of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) principles and their applications.

Contractual Obligations:

Contractors or agencies must maintain appropriate liability insurance, certifications, accreditations, and training necessary for task execution.
