About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Investment Portfolio Manager to join our team. As a key member of our investment team, you will be responsible for providing personalized investment advice and portfolio management to our clients, ensuring that investment portfolios are managed in line with our investment philosophies and process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and develop trusted relationships with current and potential clients.
  • Provide personalized investment advice and portfolio management to clients.
  • Execute the annual business plan in line with agreed individual targets.
  • Structure and lead client meetings in a professional manner, ensuring all information provided is up to date, technically accurate, and meets clients' needs.
  • Construct and maintain suitable portfolios in line with clients' requirements, circumstances, tax situation, and attitude to risk.
  • Review portfolios regularly and make portfolio changes consulting with colleagues, where appropriate.
  • Place deals accurately and in a timely fashion.
  • Work in partnership with Financial Planning (FP) and Professional Services (PS) colleagues to develop client relationships.
  • Ensure comprehensive client records are kept and that these are accurate and up to date at all times and in line with Group policy.
  • Strive for no complaints and where they are received ensure that they are raised with the Client Resolution team in a timely fashion and assist in bringing them to a satisfactory resolution.
  • Ensure that knowledge and skills are maintained and developed in line with industry, regulatory, and internal requirements by undertaking regular and appropriate CPD in order to reach their full potential (for the wider benefit of the Group).

Qualifications and Experience

  • Understanding of the financial services industry and investment market.
  • Experience of managing client investment portfolios and providing investment advice.
  • Experience of remodelling newly acquired portfolios and bringing them into line with the investment policy.
  • Technical/product knowledge and effective communication of wide-ranging investment management strategies and solutions.
  • Ability to work well in a pressurized environment and prioritize work.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Excellent numeracy and analytical skills.
  • Experience of leading pitches and winning new business.
  • Experience of operating within a risk management framework together with a thorough understanding of the risks and threats pertaining to a private client business.
