Job Summary:
Portfolio Payroll is seeking an experienced Payroll Team Leader to join our team. As a Payroll Team Leader, you will be responsible for managing a team of payroll professionals, ensuring the timely and accurate processing of payroll for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of payroll professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful delivery of payroll services.
- Develop and implement process improvements to minimize errors and maximize efficiency.
- Oversee the payroll process, ensuring deadlines are met and quality standards are maintained.
- Communicate effectively with external clients and internal stakeholders, providing exceptional customer service.
- Train and develop new starters and existing payroll team members, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
- Assist with the processing of payroll and provide technical guidance to the team as needed.
- Deal with escalated queries and provide solutions to complex payroll issues.
Requirements:
- Proven leadership experience, with a track record of managing teams and achieving results.
- Examples of management experience, with a focus on team development and performance.
- Interest in developing and implementing process improvements.
- Previous experience processing complex payrolls, with a high volume of transactions.
- Up-to-date knowledge of payroll legislation and regulations.
- Strong team player, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail, with good systems skills, including MS Excel.
- Bureau/client payroll experience, ideally in a similar role.
Working Hours:
The role is 37.5 hours a week, typically 9-5 with an hour unpaid break.
