Payroll Team Leader

Portfolio Payroll Limited is seeking an experienced Payroll Team Leader to join their established team in Belfast. As a key member of the payroll management team, you will be responsible for the timely and accurate processing of weekly and monthly payroll for your own portfolio of clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a team of payroll professionals and assist the payroll management team in achieving their goals.
- Develop and implement process improvements to minimize errors and maximize efficiency.
- Check the payroll of the team and ensure deadlines are met.
- Communicate effectively with external clients and internal stakeholders.
- Train new starters and provide technical guidance to the payroll team.
- Assist with hands-on payroll and take on some clients.
- Use an internal payroll system and Microsoft Excel to process payroll.
- Provide support and technical guidance to the team.
- Deal with escalated queries.
Requirements
- Demonstrate leadership skills and experience in managing a team.
- Provide examples of management experience.
- Show interest in the development of teams.
- Have previous experience processing complex payrolls and high volumes.
- Stay up-to-date with legislation.
- Be a strong team player.
- Have strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Have a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Have good systems skills, including MS Excel.
- Have experience in bureau/client payroll, ideally.
