Payroll Team Lead: A Leadership Role in Payroll Management

MCS Group is a leading provider of payroll services, and as a Payroll Team Lead, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our payroll team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned payroll professional to take on a leadership position and drive excellence in payroll management. As a Payroll Team Lead, you will be responsible for managing a team of administrators and supporting the wider payroll team to ensure that all employees within the business are paid correctly.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in payroll management, a strong understanding of payroll regulations, and excellent leadership skills. You will be responsible for ensuring the completion of weekly/monthly payrolls, assisting with year-end processes, working closely with finance, and processing pensions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the completion of weekly/monthly payrolls in their entirety
- Assist with payroll year-end processes - P60/P11D
- Work closely with finance to ensure costing and same-day payments balance
- Process and reconcile pensions from start to finish
- Ensure all documents for payrolls are completed in full each week - Payroll checklists
- Monitor performance of the team to ensure standards are maintained throughout the department
- Conduct regular team meetings to ensure effective communication within the payroll team
The salary for this role is estimated to be around £35,000-£45,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive annual salary, you can expect a range of benefits, including learning and development opportunities, discounts on a range of shops, and brand new offices.
