At OSI Systems, Inc., we are committed to providing advanced X-ray technologies for ports, borders, military, high-threat facilities, and critical infrastructure worldwide. As a trusted provider, we are seeking a highly skilled Commodity Manager to join our team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective sourcing strategies to ensure continuous improvement in quality, cost, service, and technology of our current and future offers.
  • Identify new product development opportunities and automate manual processes to improve productivity.
  • Collaborate with the NPD/NPI team to deliver an efficient supply chain for future sourcing requirements.
  • Maintain expertise in market trends, including comprehensive reviews of market drivers, cost structures, technical improvements, and competition landscapes.
  • Build business cases for new product opportunities and leverage the Global Commodity team for specialist assistance.
  • Proactively address supply chain impacts and obsolescence issues.
  • Support multi-site procurement projects and manage KPIs to ensure quality and delivery standards are maintained.
  • Develop and coordinate category strategies for relevant commodities and lead, motivate, and support procurement team members.
  • Drive efforts concerning supply base rationalization and supplier development.
  • Ensure synergies are leveraged across the OSI Systems procurement groups.
  • Ensure the cost, quality, and time-oriented supply of all required products and services in line with business plans, budgets, targets, and strategies.
  • Negotiate contracts, ensuring cost, quality, delivery, cash, compliance, and adherence to business standard contracting terms and conditions.
  • Manage conflicts and ensure full adherence to contractual terms, quotations, or legacy agreements.
  • Own the strategic relationship with suppliers, ensuring regular internal and external reviews with senior stakeholders.
  • Manage new supplier sourcing and selection, ensuring value-based relationships and propositions.
  • Support make-or-buy decisions, prepare data and plans for commodity gate reviews, and implement supplier material disposition.
  • Work within documented procurement/planning systems that comply with ISO guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Experience in procurement and supply chain management processes, including quality management, financial analysis, and contract negotiations.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or supply chain management, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of commodities purchasing experience, including IT, electrical/electronic control & automation, mechanical, and fabrication operations.
  • MCIPS/APICS membership or equivalent experience.
  • Proven track record in cost reduction and negotiation, with excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Intermediate and proficient user of Microsoft Office, including Excel, and MRP/ERP software.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, cost drivers, and supply market dynamics, as well as ISO quality assurance methods.
