Principal C&I Engineer

Wood Process & Energy is seeking a skilled Senior Control and Instrumentation Engineer to enhance our projects on a contract basis. This role offers a hybrid working model, requiring a minimum of two days in the office, with the possibility of remote work and occasional travel to client sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in projects within the Energy, Chemicals, and Refining sectors.
  • Conduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) as part of project deliverables.
  • Collaborate within a project team as a Senior C&I Engineer, contributing to various industry sectors on capital projects from inception to commissioning.
  • Demonstrate self-motivation and the ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
  • Develop Instrument Engineering deliverables tailored to specific project needs.
  • Possess a degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Chartered Engineer status with the Institute of Measurement and Control (IMC) or Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) is preferred.
  • Manage specification control and safety system upgrades and modifications.
  • Specify field instrumentation, analyzers, and emergency shutdown (ESD) and actuated valves.
  • Size flow devices, control valves, and relief devices accurately.
  • Participate in HAZOP, LOPA, Alarm Reviews, and SIL Determination processes.
  • Apply knowledge of IEC 61511 Safety Lifecycle and Emergency Shutdown System architecture.
  • Hold a TUV or similar Functional Safety Engineer qualification.
  • Specify Fire & Gas systems and detection equipment, adhering to BS5839-1 standards.
  • Possess experience in IT, Telecoms, Networks, Access Control, and CCTV Systems.
  • Manage specifications and interface requirements for Mechanical packages.
  • Facilitate project execution through effective communication with Client Engineers and Vendors.
  • Exhibit a solid technical background and expertise in the field.
  • Utilize appropriate codes of practice, standards, and statutory documentation.
  • Employ design and assessment methods relevant to the discipline.
