Job Title: Advanced Specialist Pharmacist

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Advanced Specialist Pharmacist to join our team at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement clinical pharmacy policies and procedures in conjunction with senior pharmacists.
  • Provide highly specialist clinical pharmacy care to patients in surgical areas and related units.
  • Manage and lead the clinical pharmacy team, including junior pharmacists and technicians, to ensure a safe, effective, and efficient clinical pharmacy service.
  • Monitor and evaluate medicines-related protocols and guidelines, and propose policy or service changes to improve services.
  • Configure and implement inductions for pharmacists in surgical areas and the pharmacy department.
  • Contribute to the organization's wider antimicrobial surveillance program and promote compliance with local and national policies.
  • Provide education and training to healthcare professionals, including medical students, and participate in departmental rotas as needed.
Requirements:
  • Experience in clinical pharmacy services, particularly in trauma and orthopaedics.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to manage and lead a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret clinical data, and make informed decisions.
  • Knowledge of local and national policies and guidelines, and the ability to apply them in practice.
