Role Summary

Denholm Industrial Services is seeking a dedicated Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Compliance Advisor to enhance our team. The selected candidate will collaborate closely with the regional HSE Manager to execute Denholm Industrial Services' SHE policies and procedures, ensuring adherence across various operational scopes through thorough inspections and monitoring within a substantial fixed site.

The role demands a robust onsite presence, focusing on engaging with our workforce involved in Abrasive Blasting, Painting, and Cleaning operations, while also supporting our delivery team in fostering a positive culture and improving safety behaviors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Champion organizational strategies to elevate culture and engagement within the workforce.
  • Conduct comprehensive audits and inspections to verify compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the implementation of Denholm's document management system to align with ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 certification standards.
  • Facilitate in-house training sessions for management and operational staff.
  • Develop standard operating procedures, toolbox talks, reports, and safety alerts under the guidance of the Regional SHE Manager.
  • Provide expert advice to operatives on various safety topics, including fire safety, working at heights, confined spaces, HAVs, CDM, ergonomics, and lone working.
  • Stay informed on legislation impacting the company and its operations.
  • Assist in investigating accidents and incidents, ensuring appropriate corrective actions are identified and implemented.
  • Support the team in creating risk assessments, including general RAMS, COSHH, and DSE assessments.
  • Collaborate with the Regional SHE Manager to prepare a monthly SHEQ meeting presentation for client delivery.
  • Report to and assist the Denholm Industrial Services Project Director and Regional SHE Manager as needed.
  • Contribute to the development of project-specific HSE documentation in line with our operational scopes.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Demonstrated SHE experience is advantageous, though candidates with a minimum NEBOSH general certificate who are eager to advance their careers will also be considered.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 management systems is preferred, but training will be provided on their specific relevance and application.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for conveying SHE concepts to diverse stakeholders.
  • A proactive and highly motivated individual capable of inspiring others.
  • Proficiency in Office 365 applications.
  • Experience in scaffolding, industrial painting, or construction sectors is beneficial but not mandatory.
